Sometimes I sit quietly and think about the women I come from — strong Caribbean women who carried families, faith, grief, and responsibility all at once while still finding ways to love deeply. As a Caribbean mother raising children in the UK far from family, I’ve realised how much emotional weight many of us carry silently. Behind the resilience is often exhaustion, sacrifice, homesickness, and a deep desire for peace, softness, and somewhere safe to simply breathe.
